All ocean rowing boats are designe to have a main cabin in the stern (back) of the boat, 1-2 rowing positions in the middle (ours will have 2) and another smaller storage cabin in the bow, (front) for things such as food. The boat will carry the six girls across the Atlantic with a cabin for sleeping, a storage compartment, and the boat will carry enough ballast distributed along the bottom length of the boat to insure self righting should the boat flip unexpectedly. Above the ballast, and under the rowing positions, are additional storage compartments for tools, spare parts, day-to-day necessities, miscellaneous equipment and food. The design has been rigorously tank tested and has the most aggressive self-righting characteristics of any crewed ocean rowing boat.
